The Valeska-Gert-Guest Professorship was created in 2007 by the Institute for Theater Studies of the Freie Universität Berlin in collaboration with the Akademie der Künste Berlin and the DAAD Künstlerprogram. Based on the premise that thinking about the body also means thinking with the body, it aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice by giving Dance Studies graduates direct insight into contemporary dance practices. Thomas Hauert was the “Valeska-Gert-Gastprofessur für Tanz und Performance” in the autumn-winter 2012-13 and spent a total of six weeks at the university in Berlin. One moving as many moving as one, the result of this laboratory, was presented the 15th February at the Akademie der Künste.
