Jan Van Gijsel
Jan Van Gijsel (Brussels, 1975) studied audiovisual arts (St-Lukas Hogeschool, Brussel) and he works a.o. as video- en light technician (De Filmfabriek, ZOO/Thomas Hauert, Brice Leroux,…), as a video artist (Métamorphoses Nocturnes', Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski), and as a light designer (The Goldfish Game - Needcompany, 2001, Beyond Mary and Joseph - Lilia Mestre, 2003). In the frame of the Rubens year he created a video installation at the Sint-Carolus Borromeus church together with Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski (Antwerp, 2004). Currently he is working on the light creations for Manuela Rastaldi, Mette Edvardsen en ZOO/Thomas Hauert.
